Getting Motivation back!!!

This is my favourite motivational speech. We used to listen to this before our Soccer games in College. Enjoy!

"I don’t know what to say, really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives. All comes down to today, and either, we heal as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play. Until we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time. Now I can't do it for ya, I'm too old. I look around, I see these young faces and I think, I mean, I've made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I've pissed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who's ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. I mean, that's... that's... that's a part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losin' stuff. You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys, that's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do? "- Al Pacino- Any Given Sunday

Bad Cravings!!!!

Today's training was tough. It was one of the mornings where you didn't want to get out of bed at 5am and go run. But I managed to get through 40 minutes of painful cardio. Totally not in the mood this morning. But of course after it was done you feel amazing. My workout this afternoon was really good. 20 rep body weight squat circuit, reverse hypers, lots of back and shoulders and of course weighted abs followed by another 20minutes of cardio. Felt really good about my workout today. But after dinner is when the cravings started and right now I'm craving SWEETS ahhhh...... I'm somehow managing to resist, I guess not having anything bad in your house makes that much easier and I'm way too tired to go get something. So I'm going to win the battle tonight. Great Day all in all. Trained lots of people and had a lot of fun today. My sister and my Nephew are in town too. My sister brought lil Avery to his first workout haha. I'm working with my sister to get her on a program to follow before she goes back to Calgary. He's grown so much.
Anyways that was my day. Skinny Skinny skinny. Good night!

72 Days

Yesterday I jumped on the scale at the end of the day after my workout and my cardio session following my weights. I was a little nervous but I knew I have stuck to my diet and have been training hard all week so it should have gone down from the last weigh in. I looked down and it read 143lbs, I was so excited I could have screamed, (I may have a little bit haha). It just goes to show you that when you put your mind to something and stick to your diet and train hard that the results will follow. I'm trying to lose 2lbs a week and I'm well on my way to achieve that goal. Today is a hungry day, I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I get to have oatmeal for breakfast and rice for lunch, the well deserved Carb Day!!!! Its crazy how you look forward to getting to eat carbs hahaha but when training for the competition these are the foods you get to look forward too. All the treats come after the show when I go on stage and show off all my hard work.
Its interval training day, so 40 mins cardio in the am.
2pm stairs followed by more cardio, and I think a little bit of the prowler today!! I'll tell you all how it goes later.

80 more Days til Competition

Day 80 started out with early morning cardio for 45 minutes. I was struggling a bit since my legs were so sore from Mondays workout.... 20 rep back squats and lying hamstring curls. Mondays workout kicked my butt. Today there was a few cancellations so I started to look for a place to live. Pretty hard having a dog but everything should workout. My workout this afternoon was intense again with 20 reps of everything. Trying to keep a high intensity and pace during workout. Always moving and no rest between exercises, weighted abs after each exercise and then onto the next butt kicking exercise. After I was done lifting weights I proceeded to complete 20 minutes of steady state cardio on the tread mill. Walking incline and then finished with running. I'm trying to burn as many calories and deplete all my glycogen stores in my body in order to keep the pace of 2lbs of weight loss a week. One more day and then I get to eat some carbs.... Friday is always a great day in respect to my diet!!!!

Canadian Bodybuilding Championships

Canadian National Bodybuilding Championships- North Vancouver. Let me just say this weekend was unbelievable. These athletes, male and female were so lean and had so much muscle it was so crazy to watch but so motivating. The women at this show were so big that it was hard to actually believe they were women. On stage they looked so big but once you get up close to them they don’t look as big as they looked on stage but they had absolutely no body fat on them what so ever. The female body builder who won her category and the overall, was amazingly the most feminine on the stage. Even up close she still looked more female than most of the other women. I took tons of pics and video for all you to see. It was really interesting to look at how all the men and women posed and get different ideas so I can design my routine. Now that I’m home I’m training hard and getting ready to get on that stage Nov 14. I’ve changed up my workouts in hopes to lose a average 1-2lbs a week. 81 days left its time to get serious and start getting lean!!!

Canadian Fitness & Figure Championships

This past weekend I went and watched the Canadian Figure and Fitness National Championships in New Westminister,BC. All the top Athletes from each province were at the Massey theatre to compete for their hopes to win a pro Card (IFBB pro card). The girls at this show were rock solid and fit and very well conditioned unlike anything I’ve seen before. A few of the girls were absolutely huge. Much to their surprise the judges were not looking for an overly manly woman. The fitness portion of the competition was by far the best part. These women are so strong, one handed push ups, back flips, front flips, hand stand push ups, to hand stand push up hops, stalls and break dancing like moves, Just unbelievable. The weekend was a great experience to see how these women held themselves in their poses. I learned about posing and hope to put that to practice to my upcoming show Nov 14, Sandra Wickham.
